As part of its commitment to bring more services to the communities where New Yorkers live and work, NYU Langone has opened its first outpatient location in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. NYU Langone Medical AssociatesâGreenpoint is a multispecialty practice offering primary care and a wide variety of subspecialty services.
NYU Langone Medical AssociatesâGreenpoint has experts in more than a dozen clinical areas including allergy, cardiology, ENT, gastroenterology, internal medicine, endocrinology, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, physical therapy, pediatrics, and podiatry.
âWe are excited to become part of NYU Langone, a world-renowned organization dedicated to providing high-quality and personalized care to patients,â says Shuja Qadir, MD, a cardiologist and medical director at NYU Langone Medical AssociatesâGreenpoint. âMost importantly, this new partnership has allowed us to expand the specialties offered in our practice.â
Greenpoint patients also can easily access care throughout NYU Langoneâs integrated health system, including NYU Langone Cobble Hill, a freestanding 24/7 emergency room; NYU Lutheran Medical Center in Sunset Park; or, for more complex care, NYU Langoneâs main campus in Manhattan.
No matter which location patients receive care, physicians across NYU Langoneâs entire health system can retrieve up-to-date medical records and test results via Epic, NYU Langoneâs electronic health record system. Patients also are able to manage appointments, communicate with physicians, and remotely refill prescriptions through Epicâs patient portal, MyChart.
âOur new affiliated practice in Greenpoint further demonstrates how we are bringing NYU Langoneâs world-renowned, high-quality care directly to our patientsâ neighborhoods, which enhances local and convenient access,â says Andrew Rubin, vice president, clinical affairs, and ambulatory care at NYU Langone.
As New York Cityâs largest and most populous borough, Brooklyn is home to approximately 25 percent of patients that utilize NYU Langone in Manhattan and over half of all births that take place at NYU Langone. To meet the needs of these patients, NYU Langone currently has more than 40 ambulatory locations in Brooklyn, which accounts for more than one-quarter of all of NYU Langoneâs ambulatory sites across the region.
NYU Langone is committed to bringing world-class medical care to patients where they live and work, and its reach is increasingly extending further into the surrounding neighborhoods and region. With more than 160 ambulatory locations across the 5 boroughs and greater metropolitan area, NYU Langone continues to be recognized as a leader in quality for ambulatory care. In 2016, NYU Langone received the Ambulatory Care Quality and Accountability Award from Vizient, Inc. for demonstrated excellence in delivering high-quality, patient-centered outpatient care.
