Researchers at the recent San Antonio Breast 鶹Ƶapp Symposium presented promising data for treating people with metastatic breast cancer, Sylvia Adams, MD, director of the Breast 鶹Ƶapp Center at NYU Langone Health’s Perlmutter 鶹Ƶapp Center, tells MedPage Today. These clinical trial results include treatments for triple-negative, estrogen receptor–positive, and HER2-positive breast cancers.
“Metastatic breast cancer is still a fatal disease,” says Dr. Adams, also a professor in the at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. “However, in most subtypes now there’s been dramatic progress in terms of survival improvements after new therapies have come to clinical trials and to the market.”
