About Me
As a rheumatologist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to my patients. My approach is centered on listening attentively, using my extensive knowledge of internal medicine and rheumatology, and leveraging decades of diagnostic experience to manage patients with complex autoimmune conditions effectively. I believe in fostering strong patient relationships built on trust and respect, ensuring that individuals feel heard and understood throughout their treatment journey.
I specialize in treating patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other connective tissue diseases, conditions that involve multiple organ systems and require a nuanced understanding of pathophysiology. My expertise in these areas is supported by years of clinical practice and ongoing research into the mechanisms of autoimmune diseases. By staying at the forefront of medical advances, I aim to offer my patients the most effective and up-to-date treatment options available.
With more than 30 years of experience in rheumatology, I have honed my skills in diagnosing and managing patients with a wide range of autoimmune disorders. My fellowship training at NYU Grossman School of Medicine provided me with a solid foundation in both clinical practice and research, particularly in the study of neonatal lupus and the role of complement split product activation in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). I am also passionate about education and have been involved in teaching fellows at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Lupus Clinic since 1996, sharing my knowledge and experience with the next generation of rheumatologists.
My journey into the field of rheumatology began during medical school, when I was captivated by the complexity of autoimmune diseases. This fascination has driven my career and continues to inspire my work today. I am committed to advancing our understanding of these conditions and improving patient outcomes through both clinical practice and research. At NYU Langone, I am proud to be part of a team that collaborates to provide the highest standard of coordinated care for our patients.
